{"id":491,"date":"2013-07-05T15:07:10","date_gmt":"2013-07-05T20:07:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bestvineyardswinery.com\/?p=491"},"modified":"2013-07-05T15:07:10","modified_gmt":"2013-07-05T20:07:10","slug":"watermelon-sangria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/bestvineyardswinery.com\/index.php\/watermelon-sangria\/","title":{"rendered":"July 4th = Watermelon Sangria"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Nothing says summer more than ice cold, sweet, juicy\u00a0watermelon.\u00a0 Enjoy this wonderful Sangria recipe this holiday weekend with family and friends.<\/h2>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Watermelon Sangria<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>2 cups watermelon, balled or cubed, reserve juice<br \/>\n1 cup strawberries, quartered<br \/>\n2 cups white grapes<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 cup sugar<br \/>\n1\/2 pkg unsweetened Watermelon Kool Aid drink mix**<br \/>\n1 1\/2 cups water<\/p>\n<p>1\/3 cup Strawberry Flame<br \/>\n1 750ml bottle Hummingbird Red 2010<br \/>\n1 liter club soda, chilled<\/p>\n<p>Watermelon slices w\/ rind for garnish<\/p>\n<p>Remove stems from strawberries and slice into 4 pieces. \u00a0Pluck grapes from stem.\u00a0 Place grapes and strawberries in freezer. \u00a0Mix Kool Aid, water and sugar in a pitcher to make a simply syrup. \u00a0Stir until sugar is dissolved completely.\u00a0\u00a0Add watermelon pieces, reserved juice, Strawberry Flame and Hummingbird Red.\u00a0 Chill 2 &#8211; 24 hours. \u00a0To serve, pour Sangria mixture into a large bowl and blend with club soda.\u00a0 Add frozen grapes and strawberries.
