Our 2010 vintage of Chardonel took home this awesome Bronze medal for Dry White Wine during People’s Choice awards at the Newburgh Wine, Art & Jazz Festival on Saturday, May 17. Hip, hip, hooray!!! Stop by the winery today and try a complimentary sample of this crisp white wine. It pairs perfectly with Havarti cheese or seafood.
Can’t make it to the winery? Visit us at one of the upcoming festivals we are participating in such as Southern Indiana Uncorked (May 24th in Corydon, IN), Jane’s Saddlebags (May 31 & June 1 in Union, KY) and Vintage Indiana (June 7th in Indianapolis, IN).
Cruise around the Uplands Wine Trail this Mother’s Day weekend and learn about how to prune a grapevine, the importance of filtration, the history of wine in Indiana, and a variety of other aspects that go into making a great wine. At Best Vineyards you’ll take a trip to the vineyard and learn about when and how to prune your vines. See first hand how this frigid winter affected our vines and how we hope to overcome the setbacks. We will also be offering a small selection of cheeses and suggest what wine to pair with it. For a complete list of topics that will be discussed this weekend, go to http://www.indianauplands.com/events/ for more details.
And, Best Vineyards will be making a return this Saturday to the New Albany Farmers Market from 8-1pm. The Market is located at the corner of Bank and Market and will run every Saturday thru the end of October. Be sure to stop in for a bottle of our Bread Dipping Spice mix or for a bottle of your favorite wine.
The entries were gathered, the designs reviewed and an overall winner was chosen after much debate. Congratulations go out to Dustin H. of New Albany for submitting the winning design during our 2014 T-shirt design contest. Dustin will receive a $75 cash prize plus 2 t-shirts for his artistic efforts. These gorgeous t-shirts will go on sale June 7th at the Vintage Indiana wine festival in Indianapolis. We’ll be posting photos of the actual screen printed shirts once they are available.
UPDATE: Art work has been approved. T-shirt colors have been selected and everything has gone to the screen printer. It won’t be long now.
